Efficiency
is the key for Profile
When business partners Chris Cook and
Margaret Widdis established Profile
10 years ago, they set out to find a
management softwear system with the
versatility to meet their requirements,
not only in their company’s formative
years, but as it grew to meet future
targets.
With his previous involvement in the
apparel trade, including 14 years as
general manager with Thornton Hall,
Chris had a full appreciation of the
role computerisation played in efficient
management of modern business. His assessment
of what was available in the marketplace
led him to FABRIX software by DDNC,
a system designed by New Zealanders
for the New Zealand ragtrade.
It met his demands for a totally integrated
system at which he could sit down and
“get the whole picture”
of Profile’s operations at nay
given time, right through to the general
ledger and up to date P&L information.
Today Profile is one of New Zealand’s
largest manufacturers of corporate wardrobes,
and Chris is still more than happy in
FABRIX’s performance and adaptability
throughout the years.
The repetitive nature of manufacturing
corporate wardrobes makes it essential
that every aspect from the receipt of
an order to the finished product is
within a price structure along with
automatic and analysis and consolidation
of sales and stock for customers.
Profile’s state of the art 15,000sq
ft warehouse at Leslie Avenue in Morningside,
Auckland, carries over $3 million in
stock for the companies it supplies.
And again it is the FABRIX system that
enables an up to the minute analysis
of inwards and outwards movements and
pertinent company/size/style details.
Among Profile’s customer line
up is Sky City, All Blacks and Rugby
Union, major banking groups, substantial
supermarket groups and other retail
and merchandising groups.
Speaking of the versatility of FABRIX
for the garment and associated industries,
DDNC’s Phil and Barbara Jones
say that it encompasses modules for
importing, manufacturing, financial
and distribution. It also has a number
of speciality modules such as customer
service, Email ordering and corporate
wardrobe.
The corporate wardrobe system, such
as used by Profile, provides a facility
to uniquely identify individual staff
in a corporation. Orders can be captured,
tracked and processed against individuals,
and yet the corporation can receive
summarised invoice information. Individual
corporate subsidies are monitored, along
with sizing and purchasing history.
FABRIX provides comprehensive analysis
of garments supplied, stock holdings,
free garment issue tracking and delivery
performance.
